Crisp temperatures and the crunch of autumn leaves beneath our boots makes us thirst for the flavors of fall. Maple Bourbon Cider is one of our favorite sophisticated-yet-simple craft cocktails—make one just for yourself or multiply to wow a crowd...
Maple Bourbon Cider
1½ oz. bourbon
¾ oz. apple cider
⅓ oz. maple simple syrup (or more, to taste)
¼ oz lemon juice
2 dashes of bitters
To Make Maple Simple Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts water and maple syrup—we love the local maple syrup made at Land's Sake Farms.
In a small saucepan, bring to a boil until maple syrup dissolves.
Allow to cool.
Combine all ingredients in shaker or beaker.
Stir or shake.
Strain into glass.
Garnish with cinnamon stick and/or thinly-sliced apple.
Top with a splash of sparkling cider or water for effervescence.
